Keep Your Pets Close With the Roodie Hoodie

This hoodie features a front pocket where pets up to 15 pounds can settle in for a snuggle.

Everyone loves to snuggle with their furry friend. But cuddling your pet is taken to a whole new level with Roodie, a pet-carry hoodie currently raising funds with a Kickstarter campaign. Inspired by the founder’s childhood spent stowing farm kittens in his sweatshirt pockets, the modern wearable device has a kangaroo-like pouch to keep furbabies close to their pet parents.

The Roodie is great for lounging around the house and can also be used walking around town with breeds under 15 pounds. Its electric-blue design boldly taps into the athleisure-wear trend while staying highly functional with an elastic stretch waist and machine-washable pocket-pouch liner. Small dogs or cats can get supremely comfy-cozy in the 80-percent cotton/20-percent polyester blend, especially rescues with weak legs or other injuries, as well as emotional therapy dogs who work their magic when kept close.

With less than two weeks to go, the Roodie campaign is well on its way to being fully funded. If everything goes as planned, the stylish sweatshirt, which will retail for $99, will ship worldwide this summer. Looking ahead, founder Cory Schop hopes to partner with a pet charity and donate 10 percent of proceeds to a rescue organization. In the meantime, dog toters and cat huggers can back the campaign at Kickstarter.com and also vote for the next color to be released.
