Keep an eye out for Keyboard Cat, Toast Meets World, and Hamilton Pug, the famous four-legged social-media darlings appearing in “Start A Story. Adopt,” a public service advertising campaign from The Shelter Pet Project.

The TV, radio, print, and web PSAs tell the stories of these online stars, who were themselves adopted. They aim to bring awareness to homeless pets through an extensive social media campaign.

“We hope Toast, Keyboard Cat, and Hamilton Pug inspire people to support their local animal shelters and start their own stories by adopting a pet in need of a home,” said Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States.

Have an adoption story to share? Use the hashtag #StartAStoryAdopt to tell your pet’s tale and encourage others to visit their local shelter.
