There are so many ways to help shelter pets, but you aren’t always able to drive to the shelters and devote some time to helping. Well, now there’s a way to interact with shelter pets without leaving your computer.

iPet Companion has designed an interactive, web-based toy that you can control and cats and dogs can play with. It works by combining “live web viewing with remotely controlled pet toys, for a real-time experience that allows users to move toys via the Internet and play live with shelter animals available for adoption,” the website states.

It’s fun to do and it’s a great way to brighten not only your day, but the day of shelter pets. Just visit their homepage and click on the interactive map to choose a shelter. You can also click on the “click to play” button on the right-hand side of the homepage. This will lead you to the partner shelters that are available for interaction. Selecting one leads you to that shelter. Once the live video loads, you will be placed in a queue. Watch others from around the world interact with the animals while you wait, and when it’s your turn, enjoy two minutes of fun! You’re guaranteed to love it!

If you try it, let us know what you thought in the comments below.
