Dunder the YouTube Time-Lapse Dog to Star in Children’s Book

Dunder and rescue Munster will share their story of friendship if the Kickstarter campaign gets funded.

Did you happen to catch the “Time Lapse Puppy to Adult in 40 seconds” viral video from 2011? Well, the star of the YouTube hit, Dunder, is about to be featured in a new children’s picture book along with his best doggy friend, a rescue pup named Munster. That is, if the Kickstarter campaign launched by their parents and hopeful book authors Byron Louie and Monique Pham-Louie gets fully funded.

With less than two weeks to go, the Kickstarter for “The Rescue: A Story of Dog Rescue (feat. Dunder & Munster)” is a couple thousand dollars shy of its $10,000 goal. The project began as a creative birthday gift for the couple’s little boy and now is on its way to becoming a 32-page picture book for other young children to enjoy as well.

The story is about how Dunder’s family came to welcome Munster into their cozy clan when they brought him home from a dog shelter. With a message of unconditional love and supportive friendship, “The Rescue” could be a very important read for the next generation of potential dog rescuers. And it doesn’t hurt that the illustrations are adorable.

Backing the campaign will ensure this story makes it out into the world, and you can also snag coloring pages, handmade plush doggies, or custom illustrations of your own furry friends as a “thank you” for the support.
