Some might say one of the greatest gifts we could ever receive is that of a dog. It could also be said that one of the greatest gifts we could ever give is that of rescuing a dog. Games of Thrones actress Maisie Williams did just that over the holidays.

Williams posted a photo of the dog, Sonny, on her Instagram page with the caption, “Adopted this little guy from Bristol Dogs and Cats Home just after Christmas. Now that he’s finally settled, I wanted to show you all the best companion I could have asked for. If you are looking for a dog and you are in the position to rescue, rather than buy, then PLEASE do – you never know what you might find. @bristoldogsandcatshome Instaworld meet Sonny #adoptdontshop.”

Williams adopted Sonny from the Bristol Team of the Royal Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA). The organization thanked her on Instagram (shown at top of story) for not only choosing to adopt but also for spreading the #adoptdontshop message.
