Make This Puppy Lucky: Stanley the Shepherd Mix

Shy at first, Stanley warms up into a loyal and loving dog. Just give him a chance!

Meet Stanley. This handsome gentleman has been patiently waiting for a loving forever home that will help him build his confidence and bring out his true inner dog: loyal, quirky, goofy, and laid-back. All he needs is a little time and patience — and plenty of love!

Breed: Shepherd mix.

Size and weight: Medium and 45 pounds.

Coat: Medium and black and white.

Location: Norfolk SPCA in Virginia.

Training: Stan knows sit and walks nicely on a leash, but he could use some help with house training.

Yard requirements: Stan doesn’t require a fenced-in yard as long as he gets plenty of leashed walks and exercise.

Kids: Best with children 10 years and older.

Dogs and cats: Stan enjoys other dogs with his same activity level and is good with cats (he doesn’t particularly care about them).

Health issues: None.

His story: Stan was rescued from a mild hoarding situation with several other un-socialized dogs.

His ideal forever home: A loving, patient family with older children who will allow him time to get comfortable. Having a canine sibling to play with and help bring him out of his shell would also be ideal.

Other details prospective adopters should know: Stan lacks confidence in new situations, but once he gets comfortable loves his people!
