We’ve all heard that senior dogs are the hardest to adopt out since most people who are looking for a dog want a puppy or young dog. However, senior dogs need a forever home just as much as other dogs. Recently, one such senior dog was found near a water treatment facility in Los Angeles. Hope for Paws, an animal rescue organization, saved him from the dangerous chemicals he was living next to.

Watch the rescue here:

Hope for Paws rescue workers named the dog Mufasa because of his hair and strength. They were able to gain his trust and take him back to their facility, where they gave him a bath, medically treated him and gave him lots of treats. Since then, he’s been housed at Lionel’s Legacy, an organization that specializes in fostering and adopting out senior dogs. Mufasa is getting a second chance for a better life.
